If you are a Magnitude 15 alum, you will remember the long trek to Marymoore Park. This year we will be playing on Seattle’s best dedicated Rugby Pitch at Magnuson Park. It is just past the university district and only 15 to 20 minutes away depending on traffic. Field 5 is a turf field with dedicated rugby lines and uprights. This is the home field to the Quake, Seattle Mens and the Seattle Breakers, and is an awesome new addition to Seattle’s sports fields.
The English rugby star is on a North American tour to discuss his new foundation, The Ben Cohen Stand Up Foundation, which supports organizations that advance equality and combat bullying against LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) youth. Ben, who is married with two daughters, is among the world’s great athletes, ranking second in all-time scoring for England. He is first, however, among straight professional athletes to focus his philanthropic efforts for the benefit of the LGBT community.
Come join us and GLSEN as we present international rugby star and gay-friendly sports icon Ben Cohen!
Reception will be from 7p-9p at the Renaissance Hotel. Tickets are $35/Person in advance, and limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $50/person.
Tickets can be purchased on the Quake Rugby website.
There will be a presentation by Ben Cohen, where he will speak about his Stand Up Tour, dealing with homophobia in sports. This will be followed by a Reception/Photo Line with Ben Cohen. During the event there will be a silent auction of Ben Cohen memorabilia, benefiting GLSEN, a No-Host Bar & Hors D’oeuvres will be provided.
